Mother Nature in Paljakka offers trekkers a backpack full of meaningful experiences in challenging terrain with big height differences. The area has good trekking trails, and in Paljakka you can even trek through one of Finland’s 19 Strict Nature Reserves.

The most interesting of the routes is Ilveskierros, a ring route covering 11 km. The route traverses the Paljakka slopes to the Latvavaara Hill, and on to the Paljakka Strict Nature Reserve and Pirunkirkko, to return to Paljakka. The trail can also be accessed from the Pirunkirkko parking area. 

Other popular trials include the Paljakka Strict Nature Reserve trail (around 6 km), Köngäskierros and the UKK hiking route (Puolanka section). More information about routes: http://www.luontoon.fi
