Fishing in the Paljakka area

The Paljakka fishing area can be fished with traditional with poles and lures. If necessary, equipment may be hired from the Paljakkatalo House. The Paljakkatalo House has advice and guidance for fishing spots.

Fish: rainbow trout 1-3 kg, trout 1-5 kg.
No fishing during the period 6 – 14 June. The fishing season starts on Monday 15 June at 10 a.m.

Fishing permits are sold at the Paljakkatalo House during weekdays 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Permit rates:

Tourist resort area, salmon ponds and river area in between.
3 hr permit 12 € (catch limit 1 salmon)
A child under 12 years can fish with the guardian’s permit for the same catch limit.
3 hr family permit 30 € (catch limit 3 salmon)

Other rivers and pool areas.
3 hr permit 7 € (catch limit 1 salmon)
- no child or family discounts.

Fish size lower limits: trout 40 cm, grayling 30 cm. No lower size restriction for rainbow trout.

Fishing regulations for the area:

Only one rod/lure may be used per angler. The area has naturally breeding brown trout and grayling, and it is advised to release these fish back into the waterway. All pike are recommended for taking as a catch. Catch size rainbow trout or other salmoniform are stocked into the fishing area. Catch and release fishing requires the use of non-barbed or flattened barb hooks.

Changes in the tourism business, places new demands on comfort for tourist destinations. The winter is still the main tourist season, but plenty of customers is also visiting the area summer and autumn time. The summer landscape and available opportunities for recreational activities are increasingly important factors in the region to attract customers.
